Jacob's 2 year stats

The same day we heard news about our nephew, Jacob had his 2-year well check up. He's a whopping 25 pounds, 33.5 inches tall. He falls in the 10-25% for weight and height. That just means that 75% of boys his age are bigger than him. Size makes no matter :)

The doctor was VERY impressed with his vocabulary. He said he is VERY advanced for his age. We knew that... but it's cool to hear your kid's doctor say it :)

He also had to get one shot. That completes all his baby shots, and won't get any until he's 4 and going into Pre-K! When the nurse came in to give Jacob his shot, she showed him the cool "Cars" band-aid he was going to get, then I laid him down, and held his arms. He got this look on his face like, "what's going on here...." Then he got poked, no tears AT ALL, he said, "OUCH!" in a whiny voice. It was SO cute, and so hard not to laugh. He was such a big boy!

New Nephew

Today was a very exciting day! Mike's brother and wife (Tim and Amy), welcomed their son Levi Timothy into the world on July 11, 2012 at 2:27am. He weighs in at 7 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long. He and Mom are doing well!! We are looking forward to meeting him in three weeks!

Celebrating Jacob today!

WOW! Jacob is TWO!
It seems like he's been two now for a while because he has such a large vocabulary for a just now turning two. He can talk in very clear short sentences; "May I have apply juice, please?" "I see a fly on the window" "Go swimming!" "It's dark outside" "A bunny in the backyard!"  etc...

He is you're typical boy... LOVES to build with legos, play cars, trains, and now with his new tools! He's quite goofy, and SUPER sweet. If you look sad, Mr. Jacob will come to cheer you up with a hug and a kiss! If that doesn't get you smiling right away... I don't know what will!

The past few weeks Jacob has also come out of his adventurous shell.... he LOVES to swim! He will jump in the water and try to swim around. It can be exhausting taking him swimming because he must be watched like a hawk! He's starting to get the concept of how to swim. Check out this video :)

Grandma and Grandpa Van flew down from Michigan for the weekend to celebrate this sweet boy. :) Here's some more pictures!
