Bubbles, tiny bubbles
Kaitlyn LOVES bubble baths. As soon as I start the water, she opens the cupboard and pulls out the bubbles. She anxiously awaits for me to get her undressed and in the tub while the water is still filling it up. Once in the tub she likes to "swim" and make bubble beards.

Kaitlyn can make a BIG mess, but she is learning to clean up. She will happily put all her toys away after a bath, and hopefully soon she'll be helping me pick up all her kitchen toys (there is a lot). I have tried to make "clean up" time fun and educational. When we put things away, I'll count them as I put them in a basket and Kaitlyn has caught on to this. She can count 1 through 10 like a champ! She is also starting to recognize a lot of her letters. She knows all the vowels and a few others. I'll have to see if I can get a video of that sometime.

13 weeks
As most of you know, we are going to have a new addition to our family this July.
I thought I better get the maternity clothes out, and try on my pants to see what things fit at this point in my pregnancy. They were all too short!! I guess I "sagged" them when I was pregnant with Kaitlyn, but I don't remember them looking like high waters! I was on a mission yesterday, to find long maternity pants!
I went to Motherhood Maternity, and the lady asked if she could help me find anything. I told her that I am looking for pants, but I needed something long. They now make maternity pants with a 34" inseam! Jackpot! I got a pair of jeans and khaki and I'll probably be back for a black dress pant. I was pretty excited!
On that note... I had my 3 month appointment today. Baby's heart rate was 160. Everything is looking great! The doctor was proud of me for not putting on extra "holiday weight". I guess there were two women she saw this morning that gained around 10 pounds since their last month appointment. Keeping that weight gain steady :) And I got everything all set up to find out the sex of the baby in 5 weeks!
This is how I told Mike:
I wrote "gunna be a big sis" on the back of Kaitlyn's diaper.
Then I asked him to smell her to see if she was poopy.
He read the diaper and was immediately excited!
I am going to be sure to take belly pictures. I got one taken shortly after we found out (when I could still fit in all my clothes), then we missed taking the 2 month picture (I really felt that I looked the same), but I'm not going to miss another month! I can't button any of my jeans already (thank goodness for "belly bands")!I wrote "gunna be a big sis" on the back of Kaitlyn's diaper.

Animal Sounds
Today Kaitlyn really wanted to see pictures of babies (aka herself and her cousins) on the computer. I showed her a few, and then told her Daddy could show her more pictures. Daddy is awesome and showed her animals making their sounds!
Kaitlyn LOVES animals and she knows a lot of animal sounds. She is fascinated when she hears the live animal making the sound and not our lovely "animal sounds". She got to hear a cow, donkey, kitty-cat, frog, monkey, elephant, and so many more! She started to give the computer screen kisses because she loved hearing them so much.

Sled dog
Grandma and Grandpa got sleds for Kaitlyn and Luke. We bundled them up so we could pull them around the block. We even had Chauncey join us, he was excited to go for a walk he was practically taking us for the walk! We started to pull the kids in their sleds, and got halfway around the block and thought we should see if Chauncey could pull Kaitlyn. Sure enough... he pulled her the rest of the way home! I think once he stopped running he realized he was pulling a sled, and of course that scared him (this is the same dog that jumps when leaves move). It was the funniest thing to watch!!! I hope Aunt Megan got a video of it on her camera (my camera was charging while we were out).

The last day we were there we took the kids out one more time for a sled ride, and we tried to get Chauncey to pull Kaitlyn again, and this is how well that went....

Reading together
Kaitlyn and Luke each grabbed a book and sat next to each other in the recliner. They were talking to each other and pointing at the books like they really knew what they were reading. It was just darling! They really like to do what the other is doing.

This is just precious!
Here they are pretending to be snakes on the kitchen floor. Later it turned into "swimming" on he kitchen floor.

In Alma
The Sunday after Christmas, we packed the car for Alma. I was surprised that after being on the road for an hour, Kaitlyn fell asleep (right around nap time)! God was looking out for us, because she would need plenty of energy to play with her wild cousin, Luke. Mike's grandparents also made the drive from Pittsburgh to see everyone.
We decided to leave Bailey with Grandma and Grandpa Van (after all, Grandpa is her favorite person), and take just Chauncey with us. This was the first time Chauncey has ever been by himself, and he did very well (a little more mellow, but well). He really loved being around Great Grandpa Wood. Chauncey spent a lot of time getting pet by him, and we know he loved getting all the attention.

It didn't take long for Kaitlyn to notice the "horsie" Grandpa put together. I was surprised that his parents kept so much of the boys stuff! The horse used to be Mike's! She had a lot of fun with the horsie.

Luke was really interested in Kaitlyn, and her toys. They had so much fun together! One night, we got them really going. They were running all over the house chasing each other. We thought it would be funny if when they were on one side of the house, all the adults should hide. I think they enjoyed the big game of hide and seek. This video gives just a tiny glimpse at how much energy they had!

Christmas 2009
Christmas morning we were at my parents house. Great Grandma Van joined us for coffee and breakfast too. I just have to add, all the snow we had from sledding melted and we had a green Christmas in Michigan. Back in OKC, there was 14 inches of snow!
Kaitlyn really got into it this year. It was so cute to watch her face opening gifts. She would make this "gasp" once she could see a portion of the gift unwrapped (for every gift). It was too cute!
