Splash in the bath

I got this video at the end of Kaitlyn's bath last night. She was splashing like crazy for a good 5 minutes, I just had to capture it on video! She still loves her "tubby time." I usually give her a bath every other night, and rub bedtime lotion on her before I put her PJs on. She knows that when she gets her lotion and PJs on it's time for bed.

Showing off my size 3!

Today Kaitlyn has been bumped up in diaper size! She is now wearing a size 3 (still in 6 months clothes). Mike got a few cute videos of Kaitlyn this morning when we were getting ready for church. She's showing off her new diapers. I also noticed this afternoon that Kaitlyn is going to be getting another tooth! It's on the top opposite of the one already coming in. So all Kaitlyn wants for Christmas are her two front teeth!

part 2...

Once she learns to walk... I don't think I will get to sit down! She is VERY curious, and I am lucky that certain things will keep her preoccupied to stay in one spot for 5 minutes.

Saturday already?

It seems like this week has just flown by! Not much has really happened so I don't know how the week went by so quick! It's been great weather here. Still a little warm (mid 80s), but the evenings are just perfect! I like to take Kaitlyn for a stroll when it's not so hot outside. She seems to really enjoy it too. Kaitlyn loves to see new things, and seems to enjoy the outdoor breeze.

Mike got this cute video of Kaitlyn this morning. I think her sneeze is just too cute!

Happy Fire Millen Day!!

So as many of you may know, Mike (in particular) and I are both big Detroit Lions fans. For the past 7 years our team has been in the management of Matt Millen. Our team is 31-84 (wins-losses) with Millen making decisions! Now that the "Millen Era" is finally over (which is what we've been hoping to happen for the past 5 years!) we are going to celebrate with a cake! I'll have to take a picture of the cake I make.

For those of you who aren't into football, I will also include a Kaitlyn video for you! :)

Look at that!!

This picture was just too funny!! I went to go pick her up, and before I did I noticed there was a green link stuck to her onesie! It just made me laugh so hard that I thought I would have to share!

here's a closer look!
I also got her laughing big to show off her THREE teeth!! One on top, two on bottom!!
no more gummy smile!

Just hanging out

Not much has happened this week, other than Kaitlyn continuing to get stronger and more curious. I got a video of Kaitlyn playing in the kitchen. She seemed to really like the plastic bowls, so I put a few spoons on the floor too. She just amazes me. She looks like an angel when she sleeps! I just love it when I'm reading to her before her bedtime, and she falls asleep in my arms. I love my baby girl! :)

I also caught the dogs "sun bathing" in the living room. They have a nice "tan" haha!

In this video, Mike is trying to make Kaitlyn laugh. Right now, she makes this funny grunt noise for her laugh with a big open mouth. Maybe someday we'll hear a baby giggle.

Visit to the Dog Park

Today was such a nice day outside that I thought it could be fun to take the dogs and Kaitlyn to the Dog Park. That's right, a park just for dogs. It's basically a two large fenced in areas (one side for big dogs, one side for small dogs) that your dog can run around and play without a leash. In our case, it was just a place for Bailey and Chauncey to bark at other dogs. I think they both really liked it a lot. Kaitlyn seemed to enjoy herself too! She just sat in her stroller playing with her Lion toy, and watching the dogs run back and forth. Maybe the next time we have a really nice day, I'll take them to the dog park again.

Here's a few pictures and a video of our experience at the park.

Standing in crib

A lot of new things have happened for Kaitlyn this past week, and standing in her crib is one of them! I caught her in the act. She is crying in this video (because I just put her down in her crib for bed) just to give you a little warning. Right after I stopped recording I picked her up and read another story to her thinking that it would put her to sleep... nope! She faught sleep for TWO hours. Normally she goes to bed around 8 or 8:15, tonight it was about 10. It's always those nights when I say, "I am going to get to bed shortly after I put Kaitlyn to bed," that this seems to happen. I think she's on to me....

We also had a massive food spill during dinner. I was feeding Kaitlyn, and she seemed a little distracted, so I thought, well I think I'll get a fork to eat my food. I guess I put her food down a little too close for her to reach. She grabbed the spoon, and pulled toward her and splat! Her FULL container of mixed veggies all over the CARPET! Thankfully got it cleaned up. I told Mike that when we get a house of our own that we need to be sure there isn't carpet in the dinning room for that very reason.

I also think that Kaitlyn has tooth #3 coming in too. At first I just thought it was a gum thing that she had in the past and it would go away, but it looks like a tooth! It's on the top, to the left of her middle two teeth. I thought it was a little odd for that tooth to come in next... but I guess I'll keep you updated on that.

Is that a tooth up there??

TP and teeth

Last night Mike got a cute video of Kaitlyn using the toilet paper as a scooter. This video shows you how well she goes into sitting position and how well she uses her feet and legs. The "crying" in the backgroung in Chauncey (big baby). He was in his cage at the time.

She finally let me get a picture! Here's Kaitlyn's TWO teeth!!

They are still tiny, but they are through the gums :)

How did I get under here?

All smiles during lunch time! 7 months old today!

Chauncey got scared and ran into Bailey's cage, Bailey got possessive and ran in too. I thought it was funny both dogs were in Bailey's tiny cage. I let them out after I got the picture.

mobile baby

Since we've moved to Oklahoma, there is a little more tile floor for Kaitlyn to use her walker. Usually while I am in the kitchen for a while, I'll put her in her walker with a few toys on the tray, and she just moves around exploring the kitchen. She looks so funny moving around in her walker, and she's fast!

And... remember when she started crawling and she found the dog cages? I caught her crawling in one! I'm probably a bad mommy for taking a video instead of getting her out of the cage, but I had to take a quick video to share with everyone.

Soon her two little teeth will be visible when she smiles. Right now they are still little. One of them you can start to see the white of the tooth. I tried getting a picture or video today of her two teeth, but she wasn't having that. I think she wants to keep them a secret.

eating a cracker

Here's a video of Kaitlyn eating a cracker for the first time. :) She is very entertaining when she eats! She seemed very interested at first, then when a piece broke off in her mouth, she seemed confused.

Also, today (for the first time) she went from laying on her tummy to sitting up all by herself!! It's so neat! She's just changing and learning every day!

Week-long update

It has been a few days since I've posted anything. It's been a busy week! Somewhere along my grocery shopping, I found bows for Kaitlyn's hair. Her awesome mowhawk has blended with the rest of her hair, but is long enough for a tiny "pony tail." Her hair is blonde so it's kind of hard to see the little hairs sticking out above the bow.

She can pull herself up on her knees, and hold her balance when she sits on her feet.

This week Kaitlyn has gotten pretty fast when she crawls, so I am usually crawling around with her to be sure she's not getting into anything. That leaves only naptime to get house-hold chores done. Here is a video of her crawling away!

Also this week, I joined a gym (if you want to call it that). The University has a Wellness Center that Mike and I get to try for 3 months to see if we like (or use) it. Something that I was really interested in was their group exercise classes, Jazzercise in particular. Jazzercise is a workout that combines elements of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, and kick-boxing. I went to the Jazzercise class that was offered at the Wellness Center and LOVED it! Plus, I found out that there is a Jazzercise Center in Edmond. So this past week, I went to check it out, and joined! If you can believe it, I went to work out at 7:30am on a Friday!! I really like it!

Many of you know that we are big football fans, and today was opening Sunday for NFL football. Being big Lions fans, we got Kaitlyn all dressed up for the big game (bib and matching socks)! She doesn't share the same excitement yet, she fell asleep.

Mike also got a video of Kaitlyn playing with her "laptop." Every time that I want to catch it on camera, she's done playing with it. She's so funny! She will just sit there and open and close it.

Cutting teeth!

So today I decided to see how Kaitlyn was progressing on teething, and I felt the top of a tooth! It must have happened overnight, because I have had her put my finger in her mouth before, and I never felt it. I can't believe a little tooth has broken through! It's not quite visible when she smiles, and she doesn't want me to hold her mouth open to take a picture of it either. Teeth are definitely cutting through her gums!! I am soo excited!! A new milestone for my baby!! :)

On top of all that excitement, I think she's getting taller too! Her 6 month pants fit just fine, but they look a little shorter than they should be... good thing kapris are in, and it's still HOT here!
