33 weeks

We had our 33 week appointment this week. Baby's heart rate was really strong, 170 (the highest it's been). I told the nurse that I had a sugary cereal for breakfast, and that was probably why his heart rate was faster- baby boy was on a sugar high! "I gotta have my Pops"...

Baby is head down, with his body down the right side of my belly and all his limbs on the left side. That explains all the low blows to my hips I have been getting. My doctor checked me this week to see if I'm dilated any. I know it's very early to check, but I told her I feel like he's going to fall out! She said it's not uncommon for a woman to be a 1 at this point, but more than that... there's something going on. I am a half a centimeter and she could feel baby's head too! He is definitely sitting REALLY low- no wonder I have been waddling since February!! I'll be checked again in two weeks :) Baby's arrival is around the corner!!!!

Asking Kaitlyn if she wanted to give her baby brother a hug

She loves her brother already :)

We went to the pool after these pictures were taken, and I got some really cute pictures. I'll have to post them soon!

Pool is open!

Sunday marks the first day of summer here, our neighborhood pool is now open! The neighborhood had a little pool party to open the start of swim season, DJ and all! We walked over to the pool and Kaitlyn got to splash a little bit with her new arm floaties. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other, and it was super crowded... so we didn't stay long.

Kaitlyn was a little upset that her swim time was short. I was prepared for a meltdown, as I had gotten a kiddie pool for the backyard a few weeks ago. I needed to wait for the right moment (and for it to be hot enough) to set it up. With Daddy's help, we had our own splash zone in the back yard :) Kaitlyn LOVES it! Mama and Daddy stuck our feet in too. This pool will be great for her to play in while her baby brother is napping and we can't make it to the big pool. I'm sure we'll got lots of swim suit pictures this year :)

splash, splash, splash!

Kaitlyn's got some long locks :)

I tried to get Kaitlyn to show me how good she can kick her feet, but she was more interested in splashing standing up!

Ready for brother

Kaitlyn has started to have an interest in holding Bailey like a baby. She chases her around the house trying to pick her up. I'll get Bailey for her, and place her on Kaitlyn's lap to hold. She pets her and gives her kisses, it's really sweet.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to drive to Stillwater to visit my friend, and new mom, Rachel. She and her husband just welcomed their first baby on Thursday morning. They had a little boy, Kayden Lee, 7 pounds 7 ounces 19.5 inches long. He is just perfect! Here's Kaitlyn on the drive up.
Mike got to hold little Kayden first. He says he forgot how small a newborn is. In a few short weeks we will have our own newborn to hold! :) When Kaitlyn saw Mike holding the baby, she was very interested to hold him too. I told her she needed to sit on the couch. As soon as she sat down, her arms were laid out and ready for him. It was soooooooo precious! She's never held a real baby before. I think she was just amazed that the baby didn't stay still like her dolls.
She even gave him a sweet little kiss.
I didn't have my camera out when she did it

Here's a short clip of her holding Kayden, and right after I stopped recording she said "so beautiful." Kaitlyn is going to be a good big sister! She is ready for her baby brother.

You can't really see his CUTE face in the pictures I got, so here's a picture from Rachel's camera of her little bundle :)

Too cute for words

Here's a few pictures from this week. Kaitlyn is starting to say "cheese" every time we point the camera at her. Sometimes we get a good smile, and sometimes we get a "cheesy" one. Since I have to work on Mother's Day, we took some mother-daughter pictures after church last week.

Got one of mother and son too :) 30 weeks :)

going for a stroll
I asked Kaitlyn to give her baby brother a kiss.
Here she is going in for the kiss, eyes closed, lips puckered :)
and then BOOM! Kiss! She always says "Awww" when she does it too :)

Priceless!!! This is Kaitlyn's "ask for something" face
It will melt our hearts everyday from now on ;)

All her animals in the basket with her

Nice hat :) Can you tell she is saying "cheese"?
Ready to go outside :) New flip flops :)
(sorry for the sideways pictures, my computer didn't want to rotate them)
Got to wear a new outfit (from Gram V) on this HOT day :)

and now... here's Kaitlyn...

Even though I am starting to feel more uncomfortable and miserable, and that of course makes it more difficult to play with a toddler, I still treasure these moments :) Oh, she is just precious! Thank you, Lord, for such a wonderful daughter. I may have to work on Mother's Day, but spending every day with Kaitlyn makes everyday Mother's Day :) I am so privileged and blessed to have such a wonderful daughter and husband!! I love you guys sooooo much! :* muah :*

Just another Tuesday

Had my doctor appointment today. Baby's heart rate was 147 (nice a strong) and he's measuring at 30 weeks. I set up the rest of my appointments for the duration of the pregnancy. Hard to believe we will have a new addition in a few short weeks! I have gained about 15 pounds, not bad...

I have a wonderful husband fixes some of my cravings. Last night he went to Wendy's for me to get a frosty. Half of the frosty was missing when he got it to me... he tried to convince me that he didn't have any ;) I think he might enjoy the 9 o'clock food run as much as me :) He deserved a little treat after successfully fixing our fence :) Mike is becoming a handy man now that we have a home :)

Kaitlyn has been doing great in her big girl bed. Only a few times we've had to use the pack-n-play crib so that she would take a nap. Yesterday she used the big girl potty TWICE! On top of that, she was the one that told me she wanted to use the potty. Ooooo!! I think we may have a baby step toward potty training :)

More posts to come with great pictures! :)
