Cute toddler moments

I try to capture sweet moments that happen throughout the day. Kaitlyn says a lot of sweet things (like saying "I love you" when I put her down for a nap), but those are more difficult to capture on film. She's been doing funny things with her toys too. Earlier, she had her cupcake pan on her "kitchen stove" with a hot dog in each cupcake spot. I guess she was baking hot dogs... :) Sometimes she will wear her princess heals while she's cooking too :) What a hoot! Moments like this won't be around forever....

Here is Kaitlyn and mommy matching! I didn't dress us similar on purpose, in fact I didn't realize it until this picture was taken. :) She just woke up from a nap and was really cuddly!! I treasure moments like this!

Kaitlyn is starting to organize her shoes. I took a picture of her job well done!

What's Kaitlyn doing in her baby's playpen?

The start of many...

I have started a new hobby... couponing. I clip coupons on Sunday, put them in a coupon BINDER, and then look at weekly match ups for the deals.

It takes a little time to accumulate some coupons for the deals, so I am gradually getting things at a very good price! Here's a few of my "deals" :)

I got the two things on the left, and got everything on the right for .42 total! (basically I had to buy a candy so that they wouldn't owe me 8 cents)

Pampers for $5, Huggies (i actually got 3) for $3.99
with another baby on the way, time to stock up now!

Mouthwash for .50 each

travel deodorants and shave gel,
all three for .44 total

I know it's small, but I got it all for FREE.

Cereal 1.30 a box (i got 4, one box is half open already)
Puffs tissues .70 a box (i got 6)
I feel good deals coming for next week! :)

It's a BOY!

We had our ultrasound this morning, bright and early at 9am. Grandma and Grandpa Landis got to come along as did big sister Kaitlyn and Daddy.

We were there about an hour, getting measurements and seeing the little guy move around.
We saw the heart beating, the spine, head, arms, legs, bladder and other organs. It's a good thing she was calling out the parts because there was no way we were going to figure that out. We were able to get a good head shot and see the eye sockets, nose and lips. We even saw him yawn!

he almost gave us a thumbs up!

The technician focused in on one section and said here are the legs and the boy parts. She said there was no mistaking it, this was a boy and labeled that picture boy parts.

Based on measurements, the due date is July 16, 2010.

Wonderful husband

I don't mention enough how wonderful my husband is. Sunday was our day to bring donuts to our Sunday school class, and while Mike was out he got a little something for his Valentine. The flowers had fiber optic lighting in them too. Mike wanted me to know that I "light up his life" :) It may be a little cheesy, but I LOVE them!

I even got a sweet card. It wasn't a little card that comes in the flowers, it's a card that needs it's own area code! I think it's wonderful of him to be so thoughtful :) It's brought a smile to my face every time I look at them. I love you, Mike!

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!!

Today we celebrated Kaitlyn's 2nd birthday! What a wonderful blessing she is! She is so sweet giving hugs and kisses often, saying please and thank you, and is such a good little helper. Everyday she puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh, and I still am in awe that she's my daughter.

Cheese!!

Grandma and Grandpa Landis arrived Thursday for the birthday celebration, and helped to get things prepared for Kaitlyn's party. I planned a "Heart" theme party. It was easy to find decorations and heart things this time of year. We cut cheese into hearts for crackers, made the kids peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into hearts, and made red punch. I didn't think the adults would want PB&J, so we made sloppy joe's for the adults.

Homemade cupcakes and frosting :) mmmm

Kaitlyn's morning started out with a few presents from her Grandparents. A new picnic table arrived in time to use during her party (from all). She got a darling "Birthday cake" puzzle from Gram and Gramp Van, and a few new outfits from Gram and Gramp Landis. Kaitlyn played with her new puzzle all day.

Opening gifts

The kids enjoyed cupcakes and playing outside. Moms got a chance to socialize (hooray adult interaction) and Mike entertained the dads at the party with a little Wii bowling. When it was time for everyone to go, it was the dads that didn't want to leave. Each family left with a goodie bag with a Valentine and some candy. We had a successful party, even if it only lasted two hours. Here's more pictures from the party:

Now that everyone is gone, I can play with my cake!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAITLYN!

Singing the birthday song, Kaitlyn didn't know what to think...

She sure got a good first bite!

Thank you to everyone that came and celebrated Kaitlyn's big day! :) And thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for helping to set up (and clean up) the party. We had so much fun!!

ABC

When I take Kaitlyn for a drive I try to think of pre-school songs to sing to her, rather than always having the radio on. Doing this has helped Kaitlyn learn the tune to the alphabet song, and she knows some of the song herself. Whenever she sees a letter she recognizes while we are out (or if I have a printed shirt) she will point it out to me. Kaitlyn is not afraid to ask what something is if she doesn't already know. At home, she points out letters she recognizes in any book or magazine. She could be reading before we know it!
