10... when??

So today I was tickling Kaitlyn, and noticed she has TWO top molers that are really surfacing! I don't know how I missed this!?!? They had to have broke her gums earlier in the month... so now Kaitlyn has 10 teeth!! I think she is almost ready for a piece of gum! (just kidding)

Baby

When my parents came to visit for Thanksgiving, my mom brought a few things that were mine as a child for Kaitlyn to play with. One of those things was my old cabbage patch baby doll. Kaitlyn LOVES her baby! She will carry her around (sometimes by her shirt or limb) and give her kisses. It's just the sweetest thing!

Someone likes to climb

Kaitlyn still enjoys playing with the dog cages, including putting her toys inside them. Now she has a new hobby... climbing on top of them. I would get her down, and she would climb back up. She also gets down one foot at a time too.






Kaitlyn also takes good care of her baby. She took her shopping.

Wanna go out and play?

This week we've had lovely weather! Mike and I have actually gotten a little color (not as tan as if we went to Mexico), but not Kaitlyn, she's been wearing SPF 50! Kaitlyn and I went to the playground at our church yesterday. She really liked the slide! I think she really enjoys the outdoors. Kaitlyn loves to walk around our porch when we let the puppies out.

Recently Kaitlyn has really enjoyed "talking on the phone." She gets one of her play phones out and starts to dial a number and will "talk" out loud. I guess she's watched mommy and daddy talk on the phone to grandparents too much! It's sooo cute to watch her mimic us!

Kaitlyn continues to explore more, and crawling is a thing of the past now. I think she lost her footing... this is where I found her...

Mike is on spring break this week, so we are going to be busy entertaining him too! :) He is enjoying his break.

bad hair day

Kaitlyn woke up from her nap today, with quite a hairdo! The pictures make her hair look more tame than it really was! It was EVERYWHERE, and looked hillarious! After I took the pictures, I got a wet comb to wet it down to make it look normal again. hehehe :)

What a nice day!

It feels like summer here! With temperatures in the mid 70s, I had to get us to the park! Kaitlyn and I didn't stay too long because it was pretty windy, but she sure did enjoy the swing!











I got a few videos of Kaitlyn playing when we got home from the park too. The first video I must have had my thumb over the mic and didn't realize it.




She is starting to play "put things away." As soon as she gets out a toy, she will put it back and then she'll take it out again and leave a mess. We find coasters and her bank coins all over the living room.

Problem solver

Kaitlyn is really becoming quite the problem solver. I had to move the VCR/DVD to the top shelf on the entertainment center (hidden behind glass doors). Every "baby proofing" item we would use to keep her from messing with it, she would figure out how to take it off! We had a Velcro shield, which she figured out how to take off, so Mike put tape on the shield so she would not pull it off... she'd just pull the tape off, and then take off the shield.

She has also started to realize she can climb. She can't quite climb onto the couch by herself, so daddy will give her a boost with his foot. One night, daddy was not there to help, so she grabbed a toy basket from the other side of the room, flipped it over to use it as a step to get on the couch. Clever!





Kaitlyn has called... Grandma Van a few times, (my friend) Rachel (a few times), but more recently she's called- 555555555555555555555... she doesn't like to leave a message.



These two videos were taken today after church. She is really walking a lot more now, and falls down here and there. I think Kaitlyn is realizing that walking is much faster than crawling. I have noticed this past week that her walking speed is increasing!



She may be small (17.5 pounds, 5%, and 28 in, 10- 25%), but she is quick!
