OK- the Sooner State

This weekend Mike and I packed up the car with Kaitlyn and the puppies for a little road trip to Edmond, Oklahoma. It took us about 8 hours to get there with the stops for the puppies and dinner. Kaitlyn was a GREAT traveler, slept pretty much the whole way (which mixed up her sleep schedule). We stayed with one of the math professors from University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) and his family. After seeing the area (which has MANY Starbucks, a Talbots, TWO Super Targets, and more!) I concluded that it really is a nice place to live.

After much prayer, and A LOT of discussion, Mike signed on to UCO's faculty. We are moving to Edmond, OK! His official first day is August 11, so we would like to be moved in by August 1. That way we can become more familiar with the area before the busy school year starts.

We came to the agreement that after one year, if it's still too hard to be far away from family, Mike will start looking for jobs in the fall (2009) that are only close to home. If it turns out that we do really like it, we did end up in a great area for Kaitlyn to grow up in with some of the BEST schools in the country! We are starting to save for a larger vehicle so we can take more trips home and have a comfortable ride.

We appreciate all the prayers and support from everyone with this huge decision. We hope that everyone will get a chance to visit us (OKC airport is only 20 mintues away)!
