OKC ZOO

This was a very special trip to the zoo, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa were all joining us! The kids and I go often (twice a month usually) with our playgroup. Kaitlyn LOVES seeing the animals! We are able to go so often because we have a zoo pass, which gets 2 adults and 5 kids in for free. What's even better... it's actually Olive Garden's zoo pass, and we can check it out like a library book :) There are two passes available, so we checked them both out and got everyone in for free!

It was a hot day, but all the animals were out enjoying the sun. This was also Daddy's first time to our zoo. We had to show him all our favorite places :)

We passed the Rinos, and made our way to see the Lions!

Kaitlyn kept her eyes on the animals

Jacob look up to see the Lions
Our next stop was The Oklahoma Trails. This part of the zoo is really interesting/scary. Every animal on this trail is found somewhere in Oklahoma.
What would you do if you found a cougar in your backyard?

walking the trails

Jacob likes seeing the animals so close!

The Great Horned Owl! In the nocturnal barn there are also bats, a skunk, possum, spiders and snakes just to name a few.

Coming around to see the Bears!

Yes, this lovely animal can be found in Oklahoma :)

Along with this beautiful Black Bear

The Bald Eagle. Proud to have this bird in OK

the Eagle's wing span can get up to 7 feet long! That's what everyone, but Jacob is looking at :)

Alligators :)
Since we've been in Oklahoma, our zoo hasn't had Elephants. They have been in Tulsa getting them pregnant so we can have more Elephants. While they were gone, our zoo built a brand new exhibit for them (it opened March 11). It's STUNNING! We have a baby Elephant due next month :) It's been so awesome to see baby animals! Last year, there was a baby giraffe :)
Beautiful Elephants!

They have 4 different areas outside to play in :)

Since it was so hot, the elephants tried to stay cool with a mud-bath

Kaitlyn had fun riding on Grandpa's shoulders almost the whole time we were there.

The zoo was fun, but everyone needed a nap once we got home.
